6000 YEAR TIMELINE PLAN

Does the Bible give any support to this 6000 year timeline plan of God for the earth? Well, think about it, does God have a plan? ... Jeremiah 29:11 ...'For I know the plans that I have toward you, saith the LORD.' ... And does God know the end from the beginning? ... Isaiah 46:9-10 ...'Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me, declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure.' ... God not only knows the end from the beginning, He "declares" it!

Now this study isn't to be taken on it's own to prove that we are living in the end times, but when put with the other end time signs, this study reveals how close we are to the second coming of Jesus. Matthew 25:13 reveals, no man can make known the day or the hour of Jesus return, but we CAN know when it is near as revealed in Matthew 24:33.

The thinking behind this 6000 year timline plan of God is that the earth would be worked for 6000 years and then Christ Jesus would return at the second coming which would begin the 1000 year millennium rest (millennial sabbath rest for the earth), with the saints being in heaven for the 1000 years. There are a number of Bible verses which point to this theory, which we will look at in a moment. But first, let us look at the timeline. Now many people go from the creation date to apply the 6000 years, but this does not fit, because if Adam and Eve didn't fall, then this world would have continued forever without any timeline. So the 6000 years plan must start with the fall of Adam and Eve.

Clearly, we don't have a date of when Adam and Eve fell into sin. But we do know there were about 4000 years between Adam and Christ, and if we look at the 70 week prophecy in Daniel 9, we can see that the prophecy wasn't pointing to the birth of Christ regarding time, but was pointing to His baptism where He was revealed as the Messiah and Son of God. The baptism of Jesus occured in AD27. Thus if we go backwards 4000 years, we arrive at 3973BC for a possible year for the fall. We could also use the cross as the central date of Christ, which would be around AD30. PLEASE NOTE: This is simply a theory, and not certain fact that we have proof for.

Possible fall of Adam to Christ as Messiah = 3973BC to 27AD (4000 years)

From Christ as Messiah to His second coming = 27AD to 2027 (2000 years)

Or from the cross to Christ's second coming = 30AD to 2030

As we can see, 6000 years to work the earth would take us to 2027 or 2030. Again, please note, we are NOT setting a year for the return of Christ, as He could return before 2027/30 or after. We are merely sharing a theory which is another sign, added to all the other signs that Jesus return is VERY SOON.

As we know, God created the earth in 6 days and rested on the 7th day, and added that "rule" for us in the 4th commandment ... Exodus 20:8-11 ...'Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.' ... Now how could this tie in with the 6000 year timeline plan? Well, what did Peter say? ... 2 Peter 3:8 ...'But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.' ... Interesting!

Joshua 6:2-5 ...'And the LORD said unto Joshua, See, I have given into thine hand Jericho, and the king thereof, and the mighty men of valour. And ye shall compass the city, all ye men of war, and go round about the city once. Thus shalt thou do six days. And seven priests shall bear before the ark seven trumpets of rams' horns: and the seventh day ye shall compass the city seven times, and the priests shall blow with the trumpets. And it shall come to pass, that when they make a long blast with the ram's horn, and when ye hear the sound of the trumpet, all the people shall shout with a great shout; and the wall of the city shall fall down flat, and the people shall ascend up every man straight before him.'

The above account is a very interesting one to tie in with the 6000 year timeline plan. God commands the people to march around the city of Jericho once a day for six days, and then on the seventh day seven times, and when they blow the trumpet the walls will fall and they "ascend up" to enter the city. Now the imagery here in relation to the end times and the 6000 year timeline is beautiful! The people march for 6 days (God's people warning the world for 6000 years). 7 Priests blow the 7 trumpets (7 angels blowing the 7 end time trumpets). At the last trumpet sound they ascend up into the city of Jericho (Jesus returns after the last trump and the saints "ascend up" to New Jerusalem).

Matthew 24:31 .....'And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.'

1 Corinthians 15:52 .....'In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.'

Revelation 8:2 ...'And I saw the seven angels which stood before God; and to them were given seven trumpets.'

Exodus 24:16 ...'And the glory of the LORD abode upon mount Sinai, and the cloud covered it six days: and the seventh day he called unto Moses out of the midst of the cloud.' ... So Moses goes up Mount Sinai to receive the ten commandments but he waits for 6 days until God calls out to Moses on the seventh day to "come up". Just as God's people throughout the ages wait for 6000 years and then in the 7000th year Jesus will call and those who hear His voice will "ascend up" to meet Him ... John 5:28-29 ...'Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, and shall come forth.'

Mark 9:2 ...'And after six days Jesus taketh with him Peter, and James, and John, and leadeth them up into an high mountain apart by themselves: and he was transfigured before them.' ... So after waiting for 6 days, the 3 apostles "ascend up" with Jesus on the 7th day.

Remember, with God, a day is as a thousand years ... 2 Peter 3:8 ...'But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.'

Leviticus 25:4 .....'But in the seventh year shall be a sabbath of rest unto the land, a sabbath for the LORD: thou shalt neither sow thy field, nor prune thy vineyard.' ... So 6 years of working the land and then it gets a sabbath rest on the seventh year. Now take a look at the parable of the sower for the significance of the above ... Matthew 13:37-39 .....'He answered and said unto them, He that soweth the good seed is the Son of man; The field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one; The enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world; and the reapers are the angels.' ... Do you see the prophetic connection with all these verses and the 6000 year timeline? It's all centered around 6 days or 6 years of work and 7th day or 7th year for rest. So the same can be true for the world, it is sowed for 6000 years by Jesus and His people and then it is harvested by the angels and the world gets a 1000 year sabbath rest during the 1000 year millennium.

All the verses point to an interesting theory regarding the world being worked for 6000 years since the fall of Adam until the return of Christ and a 1000 year rest for the earth while the saints are in heaven with Jesus. Again, we are NOT setting dates here. We are simply sharing an interesting theory which when added to all the other signs of the end times, shows we are VERY near the return of our Lord and Saviour!
