3 Emergence of Antichrist - When Will the Antichrist Appear?

Emergence of the Antichrist

On this page I want to expose the many errors that are taught in the "Evangelical" churches, concerning the end times and the Bible antichrist. It is so important to be rooted on the truth of God's Word in the last days, so that we will not be deceived by Satan. The Bible says that Satan will try to deceive even the "very elect" (Matthew 24:24) of God's people. So we must be on our guard and study the Word for ourselves, rather than rely on what the evangelical pastors are preaching.

Now take a look at this quote from an evangelical pastor (Greg Laurie) concerning the end times ...

"The end days will consist of rapture (where "all true believers" will be called up to heaven), tribulation, the emergence of the antichrist, the battles of Armageddon, the second coming of Christ, the millennium (thousand-year reign of Christ on earth), and then finally heaven and earth becoming one." (Source)

It's amazing how many erroneous teachings that this little sentence contains! We have the "rapture", the "tribulation", the "emergence of antichrist", the "battle of armageddon", and the "1000 year millennium". Five IMPORTANT teachings surrounding the end times, and he is teaching error in every one of them!

So what is the truth on these topics? Well, we haven't enough space to go into every detail on this page for all of the above. So I will outline the basic truth for each topic and then link to a page or site that goes into much greater detail and truth.

The "Emergence" of Antichrist

This one continues to amaze me everytime I think about it! Evangelicals continue to look for a future antichrist, when the Bible antichrist is already here, has been with us for a long time, and was revealed to the world hundreds of years ago! Now what are "evangelicals"? They are Protestant Christians who have basically let go of the name Protestant and replaced it with "evangelical". And where did the name "Protestant" come from? It came from the great Protestant reformation that started in 1517 with Martin Luther, and continued with many other reformers.

Now what did God reveal to the reformers? He revealed that the Bible antichrist was the Papal Church of Rome (Roman Catholic Church). Take a look at this list of reformers who knew who the antichrist was ...

John Wycliffe; John Huss; Martin Luther; William Tyndale; John Foxe; John Wesley; John Knox; Ellen White; John Calvin; Charles Spurgeon; and even Sir Isaac Newton. All these knew that the antichrist was the Papal Church.

Martin Luther declared ... "We are of the conviction that the Papacy is the seat of the real antichrist." (quoted in LeRoy Froom, The Prophetic Faith of Our Fathers, Vol.2, p. 256)

John Calvin declared ... "I deny him to be the vicar of Christ .... He is antichrist - I deny him to be head of the church." (John Calvin Tracts, Vol. 1, pp. 219,220)

John Knox declared ... "That tyranny which the pope himself has for so many ages exercised over the church, the very antichrist and son of perdition of whom Paul speaks." (The Zurich Letter, p.199)

John Wesley declared ... "Roman Papacy he [the antichrist] is, in an emphatical sense, the man of sin." (John Wesley, Antichrist and His Ten Kingdoms, p.110)

And yet now, the majority of Protestant Christians or "Evangelicals" now reject this truth and have been deceived into believing the false teachings that the Catholic Jesuits invented during the counter-reformation. God revealed great truths to the reformers, but the desire for truth was not carried forward and instead deception and lies were accepted.

Now, the majority of professing Christians are waiting for this "charasmatic" person to come along and fulfill the role of the Bible antichrist. When in truth, the Bible antichrist is already with us and has been with us for a long time. And we can be 100 percent certain of who the antichrist is because of the great detail that God has given us. The main Bible antichrist is the "religious" kingdom that matches the little horn of Daniel 7; the sea beast of Revelation 13; and the whore of Babylon. And there is only one kingdom that matches the exact details ... The Papal Church of Rome, based at the Vatican.

The Rapture

I am amazed that so many are taken in by this teaching as there is no Biblical support for the rapture whatsoever. Whether we are talking about "the rapture" or "the secret rapture", they are both unbiblical. For starters, the word rapture doesn't even appear in the Bible! So we have a big problem straight away with this teaching.

Those who believe in the rapture believe that Christ Jesus will secretly return and take away His people before the end time tribulation starts. They quote the verses to do with Jesus returning like a "thief in the night" to support their claims. Problem is, they ignore the very clear scripture that tells us what it will be like when Jesus returns. Let me give you just one example here ...

2 Peter 3:10 ...'But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.'

So we can clearly see that when Christ returns "as a thief", everything that isn't saved will be burned up and destroyed. So there will be no one "left behind" to carry on living, and no second chances!

The Tribulation

Evangelicals do teach that there will be a time of tribulation on earth. But the problem is, they believe and teach that Christians will be "raptured" away to heaven BEFORE it happens. This is another problem with the rapture teaching. When you believe in one false teaching, it causes other teachings to be influenced by it and then you have a whole lot of false teachings and beliefs. And everything just becomes totally confused!

The main problem with this teaching of the saints being taken away before the end time tribulation begins, is that people will become "comfortable" thinking that they will not go through the time of trouble, and then when it DOES happen, they will not have the character, faith and strength to go through it. Now I know that it is Christ Jesus who sees us through the trouble, but it is down to us to build upon our faith in Christ so that we can get through any troubled times.

Now the Bible is full of scripture revealing that God's people have to go through persecution and tribulation. Below, I will just show you one of them ...

Acts 14:22 ...'Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God.'

Just look at what it says in Revelation 13 about those who reject the mark of the beast. It says that we will not be able to buy or sell and that the beast (kingdom) will seek us to kill us. Does that not sound like we will have to go through the time of trouble? It does to me!

Revelation 7:14 ...'And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.'

Where does someone who comes OUT of tribulation have to be? They have to be IN tribulation to begin with.

1000 Year Millennium

The last of these five doctrines deals with what will happen during the 1000 year millennium. The mainstream teaching is that Christ Jesus will return and setup His kingdom ON EARTH, and rule from Israel and will usher in a 1000 years of peace. Again, this is just a misapplication of Bible prophecy, where people focus on the physical rather than the spiritual/symbolic nature of much of endtime Bible prophecy. Now there are many different interpretations on how the 1000 years will take place and what will happen. But the main thought seems to be that Christ will reign on earth and life will continue like now with many people still living in sin. But there will be peace and prosperity for those who follow Christ.

Now Just think about this fact for a moment. When Christ Jesus returns, the Bible says that the wicked will be destroyed by the brightness of His coming (2 Thess. 2:8). Why is this? Because no wicked (lost) person can live in the presence of Christ Jesus when He returns. Why? Because Christ is now in His glorified body and He is the express image of God. Therefore, no sinful person can dwell in the presence of God, they will just be consumed by the holiness and majesty of God. This is why the wicked try to flee and call the rocks to fall upon them when Jesus returns (Luke 23:30; Revelation 6:16). Because they cannot bear the sight of Him.

So what does this mean? It means that the wicked (lost) CANNOT continue to live when Jesus returns. Therefore, this puts the mainstream teaching of the 1000 year millennium into question. So what is the truth? The truth is that when Christ returns, the saints are "caught up" to meet Christ in the air (1 Thess. 4:16-17). In other words, Jesus DOES NOT SET FOOT ON EARTH WHEN HE RETURNS. And the lost are killed at the second coming. Then the saints are taken to heaven for the 1000 years to reign with Christ and take part in the judgment of the lost (who are now dead) and the fallen angels. And the earth is desolate during the 1000 years, until we return to earth with Christ in the New Jerusalem AFTER the 1000 year millennium.

Please see 1000 YEAR MILLENNIUM for the Bible truth on this.

Please seek the truth. Don't settle for the mainstream teachings. And remember, the emergence of antichrist is a false teaching. The antichrist is already here and has been revealed for hundreds of years!
