NEWS UPDATE - June 2019

"Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh: So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors." (Matthew 24:32-33)

The signs of the times are clear for all to see. Not only are the final political and religious movements prophesied in the Bible taking place, there are also signs in the earth - earthquakes and storms raging all over the world today. Take a look at some of the latest news headlines:

Big One fears as 17 earthquakes strike Indonesia, Chile and USA - "A spate of powerful earthquakes have rocked the world, from Indonesia, Chile and the USA - sparking fears of an impending megaquake, dubbed the Big One." (source)

'Swarmageddon' of 1,000 earthquakes hit Southern California - "Is the Big One coming to Southern California? That's a question residents are wondering after a 'swarmageddon' of more than 1,000 small earthquakes over the last three weeks in San Bernardino and Riverside counties, just 40 miles east of downtown Los Angeles." Another powerful earthquake strikes Kamchatka in Russia's Far East - "A 6.7-magnitude earthquake on Wednesday followed a 6.4-magnitude tremor recorded on Tuesday evening." (source)

Large, shallow 6.3-magnitude quake hits border area near Costa Rica - "A powerful, 6.3-magnitude earthquake has hit the border area between Panama and Costa Rica, with reports of tremors being felt some 500km away in Panama City." (source)

France earthquake: Magnitude-5.1 quake rocks cities across west of country - "A 5.1-magnitude earthquake has rocked western France, felt as far as Bordeaux in the south and Normandy in the north." (source)

Line of Storms Leaves 1,000 Mile Path of Destruction, Impacting Four US Major Cities - "A fast-moving line of severe storms known as a derecho stretched from the Midwest to the South Carolina coastline, leaving three people dead and more than 350 damage reports in its wake." (source)

China landslide sweeps cars away as floods kill dozens - "Days of rain have caused havoc, affecting hundreds of thousands of people and submerging vast swathes of farmland. More than 60 people are feared dead." (source)

These are just an example of the current news headlines. The disasters are now occurring on a daily basis! Disasters by sea and land follow one another in quick succession. How frequently we hear of earthquakes and tornadoes, of destruction by fire and flood, with great loss of life and property. Apparently these disasters are caused by "climate change." But no! These disasters are happening because this world is getting nearer the return of our Lord Jesus Christ and in them, God's purpose may be read. They are one of the means by which God seeks to arouse men and women to a sense of their danger. To wake people up from their slumber!

Luke 21:25-27 ...'And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken. And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.'

Hebrews 12:26 ...'But now he hath promised, saying, yet once more I shake not the earth only, but also heaven.'

"TODAY IS THE DAY, if you will hear His voice, do not harden your hearts!" (Hebrews 3:15)

The disasters that are taking place from day to day around the world speak to us in urgent tones, warning and declaring that the end is near, that something great and decisive will soon take place. News articles are rife with the comment ... "is the big one about to hit?" People the world over can sense a present danger in the air. But instead of looking to God for answers, they look to man, and what will man give them? Lies! What does the Pope and other church and religious leaders say is the cause of all the disasters we are seeing today? Climate change! Where is the warning about Jesus' soon return? Where is the warning to turn away from sin? The leaders are keeping the people in a state of slumber! And they know not that the hour of probation is soon to close!

Ezekiel 33:6 ...'But if the watchman see the sword come, and blow not the trumpet, and the people be not warned; if the sword come, and take any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at the watchman's hand.'

Matthew 24:42 ...'WATCH therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.'

Did Jesus say that because we do not know the hour of His return, then we can relax and not be concerned about anything? No! He said "WATCH!" Which means we are to take notice of the signs of His soon coming, just as He said ... "Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh: So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors." (Matthew 24:32-33). The 'it is near, even at the door' is the second coming. And we CAN KNOW when it is NEAR. Which is why we should be "WATCHING"

Friends, God is giving us plenty of warning. All the signs of Jesus' soon return are fulfilling. Please do not wait or slumber any longer. Give your life to the Lord Jesus Christ today, so that He can save you and grant you a place in heaven. Time is running out!
