What is the Apocalypse?

The majority of people today when thinking of the word apocalypse, will conjure up images of destruction and strife. This is all down to a misunderstanding of the actual meaning. The english word apocalypse is taken from the Greek word "apokalypsis" which actually means "lifting of the veil" or "revelation". And this meaning fits with what the book of Revelation in the Bible is all about.

Revelation 1:1 ...'The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John.'

So the book of the "apocalypse" is all about the revelation of Christ Jesus. It isn't a book full of doom and gloom like so many people tend to believe. Sure, there are judgments contained within the book and it reveals what events are to take place upon this earth. But in essence, it is a book that reveals the awesome majesty of Jehovah and the coming everlasting kingdom of the KING OF KINGS, our Lord Jesus Christ.

The "apocalypse" is for our benefit so that we may know and prepare for what is to come.

To experience the apocalypse in your own life doesn't mean to be physically involved in world war III or some great disaster in the world. No. To experience the apocalypse in the TRUE sense of the word is to study Bible prophecy and gain understanding or insight to the events that are to take place. This is what Revelation 1:1 means. Those words "the revelation" comes from the Greek word "apokalypsis", which is where we get the word apocalypse from. So this is all about having an understanding of future events to take place, so that we can be prepared.

It's about knowing the truth. THAT is the "apocalypse".

Now I know that this makes it sound more "boring" from a worldly viewpoint, because we are so conditioned with what we see on the TV and through the movies. But it is more important to know the truth, than to just go along with what the world teaches. Because there is NOTHING that the leaders of this world can do to stop the "day of the Lord" from happening ... the "revealing" of Jesus Christ the Son of the Living God.

Those in Control are Hiding the Truth

What is Satan's ultimate goal? It is to divert the people of the world away from God's truth. So that he can gain the allegiance of the masses and cause them to worship him (unknowingly) instead of Jehovah. And Satan is using all means possible to hide and obscure the truth ... False Preachers; Religious Institutions; Political Leaders; Mass Media; Entertainment; and any other form he can use to bury the truth of God's Word. The fact that the majority have a wrong understanding of what the apocalypse is all about is evidence of this.

World LeadersThose in positions of "control" in this world are largely used by Satan to further his goal of keeping and taking people away from God's kingdom. They don't own the earth and they don't own you and me. And they only have "control" of this world because God has allowed it. They are usurpers like the Devil and we have nothing to fear, because their control is only temporary until the time of probation closes, and THEN Christ Jesus will put on His KINGLY robe and return to this earth to claim back what is rightfully His! Praise God!

Revelation 11:15 ...'And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and He shall reign for ever and ever.'

Satan doesn't want you to know this, which is why he and his fallen angels are using every means possible to keep you from the truth. Unfortunately, the majority of people go to their leaders, whether political or religious leaders, to find out what is happening and what we need to do. And it is these very leaders that Satan is using to deceive the masses. But there is only one source where we can go for guidance and truth, and that is the Word of God found in the Bible.

The leaders of this world claim to know the answers and solutions to this earth's troubles. But their "solutions" are not based on the Word of God. Their knowledge is a worldly knowledge and the things they proclaim are in the most part a cover for the REAL TRUTH. Just look at the secret societies the leaders of this world (past and present) are part of. The fact that they have to hide their "knowledge" and plans, rather than share whatever they claim to know, is evidence in itself as to their dark nature and self-serving intentions.

The masses are fed a cover version, when the TRUE intent is kept secret amongst the "elite"

Let's look at a couple of examples ... A political example and a religious example.

Example 1: The leaders of the political world are pushing for a one world government, with a single currency, as an answer to the economic crisis and conflicts that are happening all over the world. Sounds good? To the unlearned yes. But to those of us who have already had our "apocalypse" (truth revealed), from studying Bible prophecy, know that this is a Satanic movement that will help in enforcing the mark of the beast worldwide. And will be the fulfillment of Revelation 13.

Example 2: The religious leaders of the world, spearheaded by the Roman Catholic Church, are pushing for a uniting of faiths and denominations (ecumenical movement) for the sake of "world peace". They are bringing the people together and disregarding beliefs in order that we can all get along and make the world a better place. Sounds good? To the unlearned yes. But to those of us who study Bible prophecy for ourselves and by the grace of God know the truth, know that this ecumenical movement is of the Devil and is in complete opposition to God's call for His people to come out of Babylon (come out of the Roman Catholic Church and all other fallen churches and faiths). God's people are to come out not join with them.

Revelation 18:4 ...'And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.'

So as we can see, we must not rely on our leaders to give us the truth. The ONLY One we can rely on for the truth is Jesus Christ and His Word in the Bible. The book of Revelation (apocalypse) is a book that reveals truth. The truth about what is to come, so that we may know beforehand and be ready for it.

Beyond the Apocalypse

So what happens after our "apocalypse"? What happens after the truth has been "revealed" to us? Well, that is all down to the individual. Do we, like many, just say .. "Yeah, that maybe the truth, but I want to go along with the rest of the world."? Or will we, like so few, praise God for revealing the truth to us and stand up for it no matter what? No matter what the cost, even to the cost of our lives? It depends whose side you want to be on in the end.

But one thing I can tell you for sure right now. There is only one side that is guaranteed to win. And that is the side of Christ Jesus. Satan and all his friends can try as hard as they like to continue to lay claim to this world as theirs. But a day IS coming SOON when the Son of God will stand up from the judgment courts in heaven and return to this earth to destroy every single thing that is evil. Including Satan himself! Are you sure you want to be on the enemy's side?

Revelation 19:11-16 ...'And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself. And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God. And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.'

Sounds like the "apocalypse" doesn't it? Well, it is part of the apocalypse. It's part of the revealed truth in the Word of God about events that are soon to take place. So what will you do? Will you continue to be taken in by Satan and have your mind diverted to the physical world, being blown about by every wind of man's theories? Or will you seek the TRUTH and make the Word of God your standard and focus your mind on heavenly spiritual things? The choice is yours. But the outcome will be entirely different! Friend, it's time to wake up!

Seek the TRUTH!
